I made this game-fix myself & it works for me. If anyone has any success with using this, a simple “Thank you” would be nice. This may or may not work for you, I’ve only tested this myself. Enjoy!
If you’re one of the many people having trouble getting
Starcraft to play on Windows 7 without the colors messing
up, this is for you! What this does is temporarily kill
the explorer.exe process & then your color problem should
be fixed. The process will be restored once Starcraft is closed.

NOTE: Starcraft has to be installed in it’s default
directory in order for this to work. I’ve included the
original .bat files for advanced users to modify if
Starcraft is installed in any other locations.
Default install locations:
Regular Starcraft
“C:\Program Files\Starcraft”
Starcraft 1M Edition
“C:\1M Edition\Starcraft”

How To Install:
1. If you’re using normal Starcraft (with or without Broodwar)
then run the file “Starcraft W7 Fix.sfx.exe” inside of the
“Starcraft W7 Fix” folder.
2. Afterwards, a shortcut will be created on your desktop for
a file that was extracted to your Starcraft install directory.
Double clicking on that shortcut will run a command that will
end your explorer.exe process & start Starcraft. Once starcraft
is closed, press any key to restore the explorer.exe process.
3. Enjoy!
How To Install for 1M Edition:
If you’re using the 1M Edition of Starcraft, then follow the
same steps except with the “Starcraft W7 Fix (1M Edition).sfx.exe”
file inside the “Starcraft W7 Fix (1M Edition)” folder.
